Society of London Theatre (SOLT) and UK Theatre have created TheatreMeansBusiness.info to host a range of digital learning resources that will support the theatre sector and its workforce.
Through an ongoing programme of webinars (both live and recorded) we aim to equip the sector with the tools to expand and advance the theatre industry.
TheatreMeansBusiness.info showcases a series of webinars presented by SOLT/UK Theatre and hosted by experts in their fields, as well as highlighting relevant webinars run by partner organisations from across the industry.
This project was originally conceived in response to the global pandemic in 2020 and aimed to help theatres recover after a difficult period. It now continues to provide insights and knowledge for theatre professionals.
Membership of SOLT and UK Theatre enables us to support the needs of our members, and those of the wider sector through lobbying local and national governments, and providing the tools and information to enable the sector to become more resilient in these challenging times.

Who are these webinars for?
Some webinars have been designed to have broad appeal, others are targeted at specific groups with certain levels of knowledge. You might be planning your organisation’s future, looking for ways to transform your working culture, or seeking some professional development. We aim to cater for as much of the offstage industry as possible.
What topics will be covered?
The webinars will cover a range of topics that link to the UK Theatre Business Plan like business planning, audience development, and embedding diversity and inclusion into your organisation. Ultimately TheatreMeansBusiness.info will provide support, guidance, insight, provocations and inspiration.
How many people can join the webinars?
The webinars each have different requirements to join; some are open to all, and some have a participation limit, depending on the format of the session. You can find the necessary information on each webinar’s individual listing.
Do I have to be a member of SOLT or UK Theatre to sign up?
Although SOLT and UK Theatre are membership bodies, both organisations want to make their webinars available to as wide a group of people as possible, and most do not require membership of SOLT or UK Theatre. Check the individual webinar listings for details.
Our training budgets have disappeared – how much will these webinars cost?
SOLT/UKT webinars may be offered free of charge or with tiered pricing levels. Some partner webinars may have a cost attached. Please check each webinar listing for details.
